Zerg
If you would like to discuss the Zerg more please visit our Zerg Strategy Forum.
Overview:
At the end of Starcraft Brood War the Overmind was destroyed and (we think) that Kerrigan takes over the swarm. In SC1 the Zerg had the ability to create units very quickly but there base defenses were weaker than the other two races. I would guess that they will keep this formula for the Zerg, and maybe further it, to give it that swarm like feeling.
Units: | |
Zergling
 | Health: Unkown
Armor: Unknown
Damage Type: Does physical melee damage
Zerglings remain mostly unchanged since Brood War. They are still the Zergs most basic unit dealing standard melee damage. However a new upgrade to the zerglings allows them to morph into a baneling.
Zerglings Change Into: |
Baneling | Health: Unknown
Armor: Unknown
Damage Type: Explodes on contact dealing corrosive acid damage (From 29 damage to 48 damage to a Colossus as seen in the game play video)
The Baneling is an upgraded zergling. In this new form the zergling turns green and now rolls around instead of walking. The baneling seems to have no normal attack but does explode on contact dealing large amounts of corossive acid damage. |
Nydus Worm
 | Health: Unkown
Armor: Unknown
Damage Type: Spitis out 15 zerglings
Were not sure exactly how the Nydus Worm is placed but we do know that it will pop-up from the ground (in a Dune fashion) and then spit out 15 zerglings. The Nydus Worm itself doesn't seem to attack anything. Blizzard has stated that the Nydus Worm is a transport unit, so it may be able to spit more things out than just zerglings. |
Mutalisk
 | Health: Unkown
Armor: Unknown
Damage Type: Chained range attack, will attack first target at full damage then will bounce to two nearby enemy units dealing less damage.
So far the mutalisks have been unchanged from Brood War. Still doing the same attack and seemingly the same damage. As far as we know the mutalisk is unchanged from Broodwar and has only received a 3d upgrade. |
